Council approves consent agenda including contracts, park and public-works items and expenditure report

The Port Angeles City Council approved its consent agenda by a unanimous vote. The consent package included minutes, financial reports, contract awards, professional service agreements, final acceptance of a pavement repairs project, interagency facility-use and water wholesale amendment agreements, and several equipment purchases.
Items listed in the consent agenda included: the city council minutes of April 1, 2025; an expenditure report for $2,136,099.47 (03/22/2025 '025/04/04/2025); airport electrical conduit boring contract (CON-2025-02); a professional services agreement (PSA-2025-16) for an intersection control study (TR0322); final acceptance of CON-2022-45 pavement repairs; a police department/Washington State Patrol facility use agreement; a temporary amendment to the wholesale water agreement between the City of Port Angeles and Public Utility District No. 1 of Clallam County; municipal code amendment 24-49 to chapter 15.12 (flood damage prevention); the 2024 Olympic Discovery Trail winter storm repair contract (CON-2024-44); an equipment purchase to replace stormwater division broom sweeper number 1540; and Port Angeles Fire Department turnout gear replacement (FD-0415).
A councilmember asked whether the turnout gear item referenced the Capital Facilities Plan (CFP) placement in 2015; staff confirmed the CFP timing referenced in the packet. The council then heard a brief presentation on the flood code (see separate article) and approved the consent agenda motion. The motion to approve the consent agenda was moved and seconded; the council voted without opposition.
The approval bundled routine administrative and capital actions; several non-consent items later in the meeting were discussed and acted on separately.
