The Republic City Council opened a public hearing, heard no public testimony, and approved the first reading of ordinance Bill 25-12 to annex roughly 9.9 acres at 4297 South Wilson's Creek Boulevard and the adjacent right of way.
Chris Tabor, principal planner, said the site consists of two parcels and meets compact-and-contiguous standards as required by state statute and the city’s municipal code. Tabor said sanitary sewer and water service are in proximity to the property and, if annexed, the land would be brought into Ward 1 with an Agriculture (AG) zoning designation. The ordinance was read by title and the council approved the first reading 8–0.
The hearing produced no public comments; council members were reminded this was a first reading and to contact staff with questions before the next meeting.
