The Oviedo City Arts Board voted to set its recurring meeting date on the third Wednesday of each month, with the next three meetings scheduled for May 21, June 18 and July 16.
Board member Jillian said consistency in scheduling would help members plan other commitments, and the group discussed earlier confusion caused by shifts from the originally proposed second-Wednesday schedule. Board members and staff counted availability and concluded the third-Wednesday pattern would produce a reliable quorum for upcoming meetings.
Board members raised calendar conflicts with the earlier second-Wednesday dates and noted several members could not make the May 14 date, prompting a move to the third-Wednesday cadence. Staff confirmed the new dates should work with city staffing and noted meeting start times would remain the board's usual evening slot.
A motion "that we change to the third Wednesday of each month" was made, seconded and approved with all members present voting in the affirmative. Staff will publish the revised schedule and place the next meetings on the city calendar.
The board did not set any additional procedural changes tied to the schedule change; routine notice and Sunshine Law requirements for meetings remain applicable.
