Berkeley County civil service commission corrects and approves March and April minutes

President Buck said the March 31 minutes misidentified the subject of a comment and asked that a line reading that a “judge” be corrected to “the sheriff.” Buck said the intent was to say the commission was not telling the sheriff what kinds of discussions he could have with deputies regarding promotion. Commissioner Dobson raised a separate wording correction to the March 31 record and the April 8 minutes, asking that phrases such as “sign people to the department” be corrected to “assign people to departments,” and that a note about an applicant’s eligibility be corrected to state the person “was deemed not eligible.” The commission accepted the corrections by unanimous consent.
After the corrections were adopted, commissioners called for votes on the minutes. All three sets of minutes were approved without dissent.
The commission did not take additional action on the minutes beyond the corrections and approvals.
