Aquatics recreation supervisor Joseph Loremans told the council the study will analyze operations at the El Segundo Weisburn Aquatic Center, the plunge and Hilltop Pool. Loremans said the city evaluated seven user groups that currently rent lane space and scored them on criteria such as fiscal responsibility, space utilization and El Segundo residency.
City staff said the consultant will collaborate with staff to determine appropriate lane-space allocation or reallocation and to assess operating costs for the aquatic center and the plunge as part of evaluating fee options to increase cost recovery.
