SAC executive committee notes multiple vacancies, student recruitment and reimbursement paperwork

The executive committee reported April 16 that the SAC has several open seats, including a paraeducator vacancy and multiple student openings, and discussed steps to recruit replacements and manage reimbursements for new members.
Linda Barr, who led membership updates, said a paraeducator had resigned after missing meetings this year and the council now has three student vacancies because one student member is graduating. Members agreed to recruit additional student members and to invite the incoming chair and vice chair to the May 7 meeting when next year’s meeting dates will be set.
Administrative details: Jolie (CSDE fiscal staff) holds the vendor/payment form new parent and student members must complete to receive travel reimbursement; members asked staff to circulate the form and the standard mileage voucher ahead of the next meeting. Susan Yankee and others said the form is a state template and that staff will forward it to membership leads to distribute to incoming members.
Proclamations: Members discussed issuing proclamations for graduating student members and agreed to coordinate with the student’s school and legislators’ offices to deliver proclamations at award ceremonies when possible.
