Franklin Redevelopment Commission approves grant to development corporation and funds for sidewalks, Andy Street final bill; Jefferson Street invoices to be set

The Franklin City Redevelopment Commission approved three resolutions and discussed remaining invoices for a separate project during a regular meeting.

The commission voted to approve resolution 2025-14, appropriating a grant to the Franklin Development Corporation and adopting a grant agreement between the Redevelopment Commission and the Franklin Development Corporation. The public meeting on the item was opened and closed with no public comment before the commission approved the resolution.

Commissioners also approved resolution 2025-15, a $250,000 appropriation for expenses related to the Johnson Avenue sidewalk project. “We actually have a contractor on board,” Matt McElroy, city engineer, said while describing the sidewalk work; he noted the total project cost was $251,000.
