The Jasper City Council approved Budget Amendment 15 at its April 15 meeting to cover several capital and maintenance items and introduced Budget Amendment 16 for later consideration.
Budget Amendment 15, which was introduced at the prior meeting and acted on April 15, provides $40,626 for a new cemetery mower and renovations to the new city hall annex; $60,000 for two used pickup trucks for the fire department; and $28,000 for improvements to a splash pad in District 5. City Clerk Cathy Chambliss presented the items and the council approved the amendment by voice vote.
Budget Amendment 16 was introduced (no vote taken). That package includes a $15,500 request for lighting replacement at the natatorium, $10,800 for sod at the park around a new splash pad and playground, $25,500 for design and engineering for the Arcadelphia intersection project, and an additional $3,400 for used pickup trucks referenced for the fire department. The amendment was introduced for future action; the council took no vote on it during this meeting.
Ending: The amendments will follow the city's normal budget amendment process; officials did not set implementation dates during the meeting.
