Redevelopment Commission approves grants, engineering contracts, TIF action and property purchases in April meeting

The Michigan City Redevelopment Commission on April 14 approved a slate of claims, reimbursements, consultant amendments and development-area actions, carrying multiple motions by recorded voice or roll-call votes.

The commission voted to accept routine claims and its financial report and approved multiple façade and upper-story reimbursements to downtown property owners and developers. It adopted Declaratory Resolution 2‑25, establishing the Trium (Tryon) Meadows economic development area (EDA) and three allocation areas as the first step toward TIF-backed bonds for infrastructure.
