Taos County Manager provided operational and budget updates on April 15, reporting state capital outlay awards and upcoming community events. The manager said the governor signed capital outlay that includes $825,000 for ambulances, $500,000 for sheriff’s office vehicles and $550,000 for Tom Holder Road bridge improvements. The manager also announced an $8,000,000 grant supporting a recycling hub and sorting facility adjacent to the county landfill, a project developed in partnership with the landfill operator.

The manager invited commissioners to a solar and battery facility groundbreaking in Amalia on April 22 and noted the project will include a local hiring/job fair. He said staff will continue to refine budget projections and will report more details to the board as work progresses.
