Council receives report on on‑call civil engineering and construction management consultant pools

The Corte Madera Town Council on April 15 received a report from the public works department summarizing the results of recent competitive requests for proposals (RFPs) for on‑call civil engineering design and construction management consultants.
Senior Civil Engineer Chris Goode said the on‑call process meets municipal code competitive requirements for professional services and creates a pool of prequalified firms the town can use over a three‑year period to avoid repeating full RFPs for every project. For construction management services the town selected four firms: CSG, Green Valley Consulting Engineers, MCK and Somas. For civil engineering design services the town selected seven firms from a larger applicant pool: Bennett Engineering, BKF, Dudek, Newt (name in packet), Sandis, Schaaf & Wheeler, and Parametrics.
Goode told the council the on‑call contracts will speed procurement and reduce calendar delays for many town projects; the contracts do not guarantee individual work volumes but allow staff to task selected firms on a project‑by‑project basis as needed over the three‑year term.
The council received the report; no formal action was required.
Selected consultants will be used for a wide range of public works projects, including design, permitting, plan prep and construction administration. Staff said the process is consistent with practices used by other jurisdictions and that the on‑call lists will be posted for transparency.
