Opponents asked the board to table the proposal, shrink the project, or put it to a citywide vote; supporters said the project offered long-term economic and housing benefits.
The annexation and zoning resolution was introduced as Resolution 25-04. Alderman Bradley moved the resolution; Alderman Hubbard seconded. The motion passed unanimously, with the clerk announcing “Motion passes 6 to 0.”
Residents who spoke during the public comment and public hearing periods repeatedly raised concerns about the project’s size, traffic and school impacts, and the pace of growth.
