Assorted budget items: vendor resignation, roof requests for county building, data-processing and miscellaneous lines
Summary
Several smaller budget items were presented: a vendor-service officer announced a May 1 resignation; the county discussed roof replacement quotes for a county-owned building (approx. $22,100 quote), RJ Young lease and data-processing increases from delinquent-tax work, and the county will seek contractor estimates before acting.

Blake Miller (vendor service officer) announced he will resign effective May 1 and said he will continue veterans’ events until a new VSO is hired.
Separately, a county presenter described a long-running roof issue at a county building (the Better Service Center) that leaks in heavy rain. The presenter sought a $25,000 earmark to replace the metal roof and address drywall and insulation repairs; he said one bid from Randy Lewis Roofing was about $22,100 while another returned at roughly $36,000.
The county finance presenter noted increased data-processing costs due to delinquent-tax work (copying and printing) and asked commissioners to consider modest increases for data-processing and dues/memberships lines. The presenter also said that delinquent-tax collections had generated substantial revenues over the past months and that certified mail and publication costs have risen for tax-sale processes.
Commissioners asked staff to get additional contractor bids and to return with cost estimates before making final budget commitments.
