Dunn County will hold a capital improvements workshop at 5:30 p.m. April 16 to review a proposed rolling five-year capital improvement plan, a staff preview said.
The county’s capital improvement plan (CIP) is a rolling five-year list of one-time expenditures for items such as land, buildings, construction, landscaping or major equipment. In Dunn County the plan also includes large one-time purchases that departments cannot fund from their general operating budgets, the preview said.
Departments submit potential capital items early in the year so the county can plan for upcoming costs and extend asset life through maintenance and repair. County staff said the board will review the proposed plan at the April workshop but will not make final decisions; a final version will return to the board in May after staff incorporate feedback from April.
The county preview noted the workshop is intended for review and comment rather than adoption. The regular Dunn County Board of Supervisors meeting will follow the workshop; the county posts meeting video to its YouTube page afterward for public viewing.
