Owner and consultant outline planting plan at 36 Nicole Terrace; enforcement order continued

Mary Ann Cronoff, the consultant for the property, reported she visited the site after the thaw and identified a localized wet pocket with cattails, existing stump sprouts and upland planting needs. She said professional erosion controls were in place and suggested raking wood chips back from the wetland edge and overseeding disturbed upland areas with a wildflower mix. She also said plantings are scheduled for May 3.
Cronoff told the commission she would provide a detailed planting plan that shows species, quantities and the spatial extent of the work, together with an O&M plan identifying who will water and replace failed plants. “Typically, when I do plantings like that, I come back at the end of the growing season, see what’s allowed and replace those,” she said.
The commission asked for a clear sketch showing tree/shrub locations, numbers and an estimate of expected survival rates. Staff and the consultant discussed practical removal of heavy brush and logs by cutting to sizes that can be moved by hand or with limited equipment to avoid further wetland disturbance.
The enforcement order was continued to allow the consultant to submit the requested planting map, a removal plan for woody debris, and a maintenance/monitoring schedule clarifying homeowner responsibilities. The motion to extend the enforcement order passed on a voice vote.
The commission warned that failure to maintain plantings could result in future violations and fines, and it asked staff to follow up on the homeowner’s responsibilities as part of the enforcement file.
