Board hears instructional-materials report and two Hudson's Bay out-of-state travel recommendations

Staff also previewed two out-of-state travel recommendations for Hudson's Bay High School. Brett Blechschmidt said the Hudson's Bay Band and Orchestra program would request travel to Anaheim (Disneyland) to perform and participate in professional development; funding would come from band and orchestra boosters and from students and families for amounts not covered by booster fundraising. Blechschmidt also said up to 10 Hudson's Bay AVID students would travel to Grand Canyon University in Arizona on a trip fully funded by a grant, with no district or family cost to participate.
Both travel items were presented as recommendations for future approval; staff did not request or record a vote at this meeting.
