Staff: downtown feasibility study nearly complete; comprehensive plan update process starting

Rodney Ashby, planning and zoning director, briefed the Nampa Planning and Zoning Commission on April 15 that the downtown feasibility study is wrapping up and the city will soon present implementation concepts and seek the commission’s feedback.
Ashby said a public tour of the downtown design concepts was scheduled for the coming Friday and staff will bring an implementation plan to the commission for review. He also announced the city is beginning a comprehensive-plan update, noting the RFP selection committee will meet with the top three consultant candidates this week and the public-engagement phase will run this summer with staff-led outreach to existing community gatherings.
The commission was asked to prepare feedback on proposed sign-code changes at a joint meeting later in the week and to consider participating in downtown tours and comprehensive-plan outreach.
