The Morgantown City Council voted 7-0 April 16 to appoint Jamie Miller as city manager and authorized the mayor to execute the employment agreement presented to the council.
The appointment came during a special meeting at Morgantown City Hall. A motion to appoint Jamie Miller and allow the mayor to sign the employment agreement was made, seconded and approved on a roll-call vote. The council recorded seven affirmative votes and no oppositions or abstentions, and the mayor was authorized to execute “any other documents needed to accomplish the purposes of the employment agreement.”
The action was procedural: the council approved the appointment and granted the mayor authority to sign the contract documents. No salary, start date, or other terms beyond authorizing execution of the presented employment agreement were stated on the record during the meeting.
Following the vote the council moved to adjourn the special meeting.
