Judge revokes Jalen Collins' community supervision; sentences him to four years in prison

The 187th District Court revoked Jalen Collins' community supervision on April 22, 2025, following pleas of true to alleged violations, and sentenced him to four years in prison on each cause number, to run concurrently.
Collins had faced motions to revoke for missed sober-support meetings and drug-test no-shows. On the record, Collins acknowledged failures to provide verification of attendance at required meetings and waived further proceedings on certain allegations. The State offered treatment-oriented dispositions — including inpatient aftercare, twice-weekly drug testing and residency in a sober living facility — but defense counsel said there was no agreement and asked the court to consider mitigation.
Judge Stephanie Boyd found violations true, adjudicated guilt, revoked community supervision and imposed four-year prison terms to run concurrently. The court recommended a therapeutic community placement when available and allowed credit for time already served.
The judge told Collins the door remains open for post-release referrals and urged him to pursue treatment; probation and court staff were directed to facilitate referrals where appropriate.
