County approves lease to relocate 911 dispatch to Metro Technology Center hardened site

Oklahoma County Commissioners approved a lease and continuing project to relocate the county 911 dispatch call center to a hardened facility on the South Bricktown campus at the Metro Technology Center.
Sheriff’s staff described the four‑year project to construct and then move the 911 call center into a hardened site that will serve as a training hub for 911 communicators across the metro area. Staff said the facility will allow phased migration to avoid any interruption of dispatch operations and that technical connections and furniture are largely in place.
A motion to approve the lease and proceed with the move was made, seconded and approved by the commission by voice vote. No construction completion date was announced at the meeting.
