The City Council approved Resolution 2025-22 on April 14 to permit a second building on a single lot at 18750 Ulysses Street NE, accepting staff and Planning Commission recommendations and conditions of approval.
Planning staff (Zeke Peters) presented the site plan and conditional-use permit application from Classic Construction for a second light-industrial building on an existing lot. The parcel is zoned industrial; staff said the city code permits a second principal building on a lot in the industrial district when uses are related. Peters told the council the applicant submitted updated landscaping and screening plans to meet the code’s loading-dock screening requirements and that the city engineer’s comments were incorporated as conditions of approval.
The applicant, Kurt Strandland, spoke from the public microphone and said the new building is intended as leasable space for tenants and would not be used at the time by Country Heart or the Panagold building.
A council member moved to adopt Resolution 2025-22; after a second the motion passed with no opposition.
The approval includes conditions recommended by staff and the city engineer; staff will monitor compliance with the landscaping and screening exhibits provided to the planning commission.
