Greenfield council approves permits, contracts, events and appointments; Turf skatepark ribbon cutting set for June

The Greenfield Common Council on April 15 approved a series of permits, contracts, events and appointments and heard a mayoral proclamation honoring the city’s dispatch center on its 50th anniversary.

Mayor’s announcements and proclamations: The mayor proclaimed April 2025 as Dispatcher Appreciation Week to mark 50 years of a dedicated dispatch position in Greenfield and reminded the council the official ribbon cutting for the Turf Skateboard Park is scheduled for June 7. The mayor said the city and volunteers have worked to ready the site and thanked the City of Franklin for equipment and donated topsoil.

Special use permits and site reviews: The council approved several land‑use matters during the public hearings portion of the meeting.

- 8512 W. Forest Home Ave (multi‑tenant auto restyling center): Council approved a special use permit, site review and landscaping plans to convert a single‑tenant building to multi‑tenant use for auto body paint, interior repair, glass replacement, detailing and tire services. Staff reported the building will require 24 parking spaces; the applicant will provide 21 and the council indicated it may waive the shortfall. The Plan Commission recommended approval.
