Greenfield council approves permits, contracts, events and appointments; Turf skatepark ribbon cutting set for June

The Greenfield Common Council on April 15 approved a series of permits, contracts, events and appointments and heard a mayoral proclamation honoring the city’s dispatch center on its 50th anniversary.

- 7820 W. Leighton Ave (Mountain Dip / food truck): Council approved a special use permit and site review allowing the Mountain Dip food truck to use an on‑site commercial kitchen as its base. The applicant said the truck would be parked behind the building and not serve customers from the parking lot. Plan Commission recommended approval and staff reported two full‑time employees for the truck’s operation.

- 3322 W. Loomis Rd (Mr. Chicken food truck): Council approved the special use permit and—after neighbor testimony about late‑night noise—amended the permit to allow return/storage activity until 2 a.m. Thursday–Sunday on a six‑month trial basis, with a staff review scheduled at the end of the trial.

- Lake Auto Glass ownership/business change (4440 S. 108th St): Council approved a resolution allowing an ownership and business change for the existing auto glass replacement shop. Staff said the site was recently reviewed and the principal outstanding concern was storage of glass outdoors; the council directed the new owner to keep glass inside.

Contracts and capital projects: The council approved several agreements:

- Agreement with R.A. Smith for engineering services, $72,800.

- Contract with Garland Company for the Lawn Enforcement Center flat‑roof replacement (Project 2505), $523,545.

- Purchase of a street‑light pole mounting attachment (discussion and approval recorded).
