School board committee presses for timeline, budget clarity on Memorial Field project

Members of the Concord School Board's city-and-community relations committee spent much of their meeting discussing the future of Memorial Field, agreeing that the project needs firmer timelines and clearer financing before the design is reopened or land purchases are pursued.

Barb (school board member and the committee's representative) said she is concerned the citizen-city-school committee "is veering off the course" of the plan that had already been designed and paid for, and that recent conversations at Parks & Recreation meetings have shifted toward expanding the project's scope, including new parking and buying adjacent land.
