After‑prom returns as 'Bomber Boardwalk'; PTO seeks new chair

The Kenston PTO presented details of the high school’s after‑prom event at the April 14 board meeting and asked the community to help recruit a new chair as the current lead steps down after this year.
What’s planned: Jessie Corcoran, the PTO’s after‑prom lead, told trustees the theme this year is “Bomber Boardwalk,” a carnival-style evening with midway games, inflatables, a DJ, a putt‑putt course, Family Feud in the auditorium, temporary tattoos, a prize wheel and other activities. The PTO is bringing back favorites such as outdoor volleyball and Family Feud, and said Pop Culture Cleveland (Solon) will provide treats and ice cream.
Prizes and community support. Corcoran said community fundraising and local businesses have enabled the PTO to offer four cash drawings for seniors who attend the event—$250, $500, $750 and $1,000—and numerous other prizes (paddleboard, electric bike, electronics, Cedar Point and Blossom tickets and various smaller items). Hungry Bee and other community sponsors were credited for ongoing support.
Volunteer request and logistics. Corcoran said she is stepping down after five years as after‑prom lead and asked the community to help recruit a successor; volunteers and co‑chairs were encouraged. The PTO will host a community preview from 6–8 p.m. on the night of the event; students will arrive later (around 10:45–11 p.m.), must remain through Family Feud and are released after prize announcements (event typically ends around 2:30 a.m.). The PTO said an officer will be on duty and parent volunteers will staff entrances and monitor the event.
Ending: Board members thanked the PTO and noted the heavy volunteer commitment required to run after‑prom; the PTO emphasized continuity by noting that volunteers for 2028 are already being recruited.
