Environmental health inspections rise as mobile food operations increase in Franklin

The department said mobile licensing and inspections have risen about 4% over the last five years.
"There used to be a time that the winter amounts were the off season of food trucks, but that trend is long gone," staff said in the packet summary. The board discussed that environmental health workload has increased and that inspections cover licensed food establishments and mobile vendors year-round.
No enforcement actions or permit revocations were described in the meeting. The update was informational and brought environmental health trends to the board's attention as part of the department's annual reporting.
