The Wentzville R-IV School District Board of Education at a special reorganizing meeting (date not specified) approved the initial results of the April 8, 2025, school board election, administered oaths to newly elected members and held roll-call votes to elect board officers and delegates to the Missouri School Boards Association.
The board approved the meeting agenda and then voted to "approve initial results of the school board of directors election of April eighth, 2025," a motion that was made and seconded and carried by voice vote, according to the meeting record.
The meeting opened with the oath of office for newly seated trustees, who swore to support the constitutions of the United States and the state of Missouri and to uphold the Wentzville R-IV School District board member code of ethics. Miss Goodwin, the board secretary, conducted roll-call votes for the officer elections after nominations were made from the floor.
Nominations for president produced two candidates: Julie Scott and David Lewis. The election was conducted by roll call. The board announced that Julie Scott "received the majority of the votes cast and has been declared elected president." The meeting record does not list a numeric tally for the president vote.
Nominations for vice president yielded David Lewis and Brad Welsh. The roll-call result was recorded: David Lewis received three votes and Brad Welsh received four votes; Brad Welsh was declared elected vice president.
For secretary, Renee Henke and David Biesenthal were nominated. The roll call produced a tally of three votes for Renee Henke and four votes for David Biesenthal, and the board declared David Biesenthal elected secretary.
The board also selected two delegates to represent the district at the Missouri School Boards Association (MSBA). In the first MSBA delegate election Jeremy Wei received four votes and Jen Olsen received three votes and Jeremy Wei was declared MSBA delegate No. 1. A separate roll-call vote later elected Jen Olsen as the district's second MSBA delegate after another nomination cycle; the record shows Jen Olsen was declared elected for the second delegate post.
Procedural details noted by the board: nominations did not require a second, a nominee remains on the ballot unless they withdraw, and members were permitted to vote for themselves. Miss Goodwin led the roll-call process when the board chair requested it.
No policy actions or budget votes were taken during the reorganizing portion of the meeting; the proceedings focused on certifying election results, swearing in trustees and electing board officers and association delegates.
The newly elected president, Julie Scott, assumed the chair at the meeting after her election, and the board proceeded to complete the remaining officer and delegate selections.
