Evergreen to partner with Right At School for before and after childcare at most elementary schools

Superintendent Dr. Maloney told the board Tuesday that Evergreen School District (Clark) will partner with Right At School to deliver before- and after-school childcare at most elementary schools beginning next school year.
Dr. Maloney said the partnership will allow students to stay at their neighborhood schools for childcare rather than being bused and that the program will provide additional financial savings for the district because Right At School will operate the service. She noted Burton Elementary will not be part of the Right At School rollout because an active Boys & Girls Club partnership already provides childcare there.
Information about the program, including informational sessions and registration details, will be provided to families in the coming weeks, Dr. Maloney said. The district plans outreach to elementary staff and families and will publish details on district websites and ParentSquare.
Board members asked clarifying questions about coverage and the superintendent said the district had previously provided partial childcare at some schools and that the new partnership expands equitable access across most of the district22 elementary schools. No formal board action was taken; the announcement was informational.
