County approves GuardOne-Tyler integration change order; jury management work continues

The commissioners approved a change order for $4,785.63 to add GuardOne integration into the county’s ongoing Tyler public-safety and court systems implementation.
John Carter, speaking for the Tyler steering committee, said the change order covers a one-time integration cost and will be paid from fund 257 (jail commissary fund); he said the total remains within the previously approved budget for the Tyler project. Carter and others explained the integration will help move data between the jail’s GuardOne system and the new Tyler modules.
Court members also discussed recent Tyler upgrades affecting jury management. Carter said two recent fixes addressed donation handling and accelerated juror registration so staff can determine panel assignments more quickly. He and commissioners discussed a potential process change: sending jurors directly to courtrooms rather than having a centralized juror entrance and manual paper lists. Carter said implementation of a fully automated courtroom routing will require coordination with district judges and district-clerk workflows.
The court voted to approve the change order and accepted the Tyler project report for recording purposes.
