Board approves staffing items and contractor awards; motions carried by unanimous votes except KJ decision
Summary

General-contractor awards (referendum projects)
- The board awarded the General Contractor Renovations project at Southwest High School to IEI General Contractors in the amount of $673,000. The district said the work is part of the 2022 referendum projects and includes gym renovations (athletic floor, bleachers) and AV equipment; board members asked for a brief synopsis in the record. The motion passed with all board members voting in favor.
- The board awarded the General Contract Renovations project at Franklin Middle School to IEI General Contractors in the amount of $739,000. The Franklin work includes a gymnasium refresh, HVAC upgrades and AV equipment for the auditorium. The motion passed with all board members voting in favor.
Votes and procedure
Board members used the district’s online voting process for recorded votes at several points during the meeting; staff repeated online “voting is now open” announcements and read vote results into the record after each tally. Where the transcript records “Second” without a named seconder, the record shows the motion was seconded but does not capture the individual’s name.
The board adjourned the special meeting and immediately convened the April 14 work session.
