Board approves agreement with Ayers Associates for 2025 aerial imagery and mapping

The Board of Public Works on April 14 authorized a professional services agreement with Ayers Associates for the city's 2025 aerial imagery and planimetric mapping.
Josh Moritz, acting public works director, said the imagery will update the city's photography and planimetric data used by engineering, other departments and the public. "Ayers Associates was selected by WROC to provide this service in 2015 and 2020 and they've also been selected for 2025," Moritz said. The board approved the agreement by voice vote.
Moritz said the specifications generally match the 2020 flight: 3-inch pixel resolution and citywide planimetric (biometric in packet text) mapping with a 60% flight overlap. The city partners through the Wisconsin Regional Orthophotography Consortium (WROC) to achieve economies of scale; WROC includes Wood County and neighboring municipalities. Delivery of imagery is expected approximately six to eight months after the flight.
Marshfield utilities and the wastewater utility will share costs. Moritz said the proposal exceeds the city's budgeted amount of $200,000 and that he will request a budget resolution to cover the difference. He said the originally scheduled spring flight did not occur but that the flight is expected soon. The meeting packet included the Ayers Associates agreement and program specifications.
The board did not record individual vote counts in the transcript; the motion carried on a voice vote.
