The Canton City Commission approved change order No. 2 for the Beavercreek sanitary sewer project after staff said contaminated soil was encountered in Burlington Northern Santa Fe right-of-way during installation. The change increases the contract by $7,265.51, bringing the total contract price to $5,009,363.63, according to staff remarks in the meeting.

The commission also approved pay application No. 10 from the contractor for $75,427.51. Staff said this should be the last payment for the year and that the city is holding retainage of "$249 and $700" until a handful of remaining items are fixed next spring, including rolled gaskets and other minor repairs.

Both the change order and the pay application were moved, seconded and approved on roll call.
