The Dell Rapids City Council voted to approve a retail on- and off-sale wine and cider license for Cellar Sensations LLC, an applicant listed as Marybeth Bomburger. Claire, the finance officer, told the council all paperwork had been obtained and payment made.

Marybeth Bomburger told the council she and her husband, Darren Bomburger, are longtime Dell Rapids residents and plan to operate a wine club out of a rented booth at 501 E. Fourth Street, with members picking up product one day each month. The council discussed how the city and state license descriptions will carve out the licensed area within the booth and how the three-tier system requires sourcing product through authorized distributors such as Johnson Brothers or Republic National.

Gary moved to approve the application; Kevin Jelly seconded. Council voted by voice: “Aye.” The mayor declared the motion carried.
