Adams County approves $1.16 million overlay contract, accepts $20,050 bid for bridge approaches

Adams County commissioners approved a $1,159,332 contract with Brooks Construction for a 2025 HMA asphalt overlay on 300 North between 27 and 700 West and accepted a separate $20,050 quote from KBL Transport to repair five bridge approaches, county staff said at a regular meeting.

The overlay contract was presented by Nate, the county engineer, who said Brooks submitted payment and performance bonds and that commissioners could sign the agreement after the meeting. "The total bid price on that contract is $1,159,332," Nate said, and asked for a motion to approve the agreement. Commissioners approved the motion.

The board also approved a $20,050 lump-sum quote from KBL Transport to address bridge approaches at five locations: Bridge 1 (650 West, north of 11 North), a bridge on 500 North over the Holhouse ditch (east of 400 West), Bridge 65 (400 North over the Borham Run, west of 27), Bridge 128 (300 East over the Waverley Farrow Ditch, north of 218) and Bridge 169 (County Road 1200 South over Lindberwas…
