Sarasota board approves reorganization, new job descriptions and policy updates as district plans for new school

The Sarasota County School Board on April 15 approved a broad set of administrative revisions, new job descriptions and policy updates the superintendent said are intended to prepare the district to open a new high school, address staffing needs and strengthen data and instructional supports. Board votes on the agenda and the separate job‑description items were unanimous, 5–0.

Superintendent Conner said the district has created a tentative organization chart that repurposes some existing roles, adds targeted positions to support technology, assessments and human capital, and includes classified staffing increases tied to a new school opening (Sky Ranch). He told the board the cabinet changes are color coded in staff materials: red for positions being eliminated, purple for revised job descriptions and yellow for new positions that depend on funding.
