The Mooresville Town Council on April 15 approved awarding a sewer-lining contract to Inliner and authorized payment from the town’s food-and-beverage fund, with a not-to-exceed amount of $125,000.
A public-works staff member briefed the council on three bids received for sewer-lining work and said Inliner has done similar work for the town in recent years. The staff member said Inliner’s quote would be reduced by about $23,000 if the contractor performs both line jobs in a single mobilization.
Council members discussed the bids and the project locations, which staff identified as Marleywood (about 1,300 feet) and Crestwood (about 500 feet). The presiding official called for a motion; the council approved the award on a unanimous vote, recorded as 4–0.
The council authorized the contract award with a spending cap of $125,000 and directed staff to obtain the combined contract for both lines and return the final contract for signature. Staff said alternative vendors included SAK Pipeline Infrastructure and Enviroflow Pipe; the transcript-listed quote figures were not presented in clear numeric form at the meeting and are recorded in the minutes as presented by staff rather than read verbatim.
The council asked staff to pursue bids to line manholes as a related task; no additional appropriation was authorized at this meeting.
