Rutherford County commissioners voted to take under advisement the rebid of the request for proposals (RFP) for transportation of deceased remains for emergency medical services and the medical examiner’s office.
Denise Martin, who presented the item, said the county rebid the RFP because the two original bids did not meet all specifications. After risk-management review and bid adjustments to protect county interests, the county reopened the solicitation; Martin said they received several responses and two new bidders that same day.
Commissioners and staff noted that documentation from respondents varied and recommended a careful review. Martin recommended taking the matter under advisement so staff and risk management could examine the submissions and return with a recommendation; the motion to take the item under advisement passed without objection.
Martin committed to present a recommendation to the committee in 30 days. The commission did not record a contract award at this meeting.
