LaSalle County committee approves routine reports, nursing home items and enters executive session

Members of the LaSalle County Services & Health Committee approved several routine items and moved to executive session at the end of their meeting.

Committee members voted to approve prior committee minutes and to accept the school services bills and reports after motions on the floor. A motion to approve the prior committee minutes was moved by Kathy Owens and seconded by Doug Stackley; the motion carried with Committee members responding “Aye.” Later the committee approved the bills for school services and the quarterly and monthly school services reports by voice vote; the clerk recorded “Aye” for all present.

The committee received a detailed nursing home report that included activity programming, admissions and staffing updates. The nursing home reported a current census of 61 residents, seven new admissions and seven discharges during the reported period; projected admits for April were three. The nursing home also said two full‑time CNAs were hired for the midnight shift, five trees had been marked for removal on facility grounds, and the cost report prepared by RSM is due 04/28/2025. The director of nursing planned basic life support and CPR classes in May and said policy and manual reviews will begin in May in preparation for the annual IDPH survey.

After routine approvals the committee voted to go into executive session under the statute cited in the meeting: “5 ILCS 100 and twentytwo C 1” for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the county. The chair asked for a roll call; members Kathy Owens, Doug Stackley, Matt Slager and Ron Blue responded aye and the committee recessed into executive session.

All recorded motions on bills and reports were approved by voice vote with no no‑votes or abstentions recorded in the public minutes.
