The ordinance would change the parcel’s zoning designation from single‑family/residential categories (R‑1 and B‑1) to a higher‑density category (R‑3). The council did not discuss a specific development plan at the meeting; speakers emphasized that any specific site plan, stormwater or retention‑pond questions would be addressed during development permitting if rezoning ultimately proceeds.
The council will revisit the ordinance at its next meeting after the two‑week layover. Neighbors and developers may be asked to meet during the intervening period.
