Monique Barraza Gutierrez, identified by the city manager as CEO of the Abigail Barraza Foundation, introduced the Miss Santa Fe Springs 2024–25 court and thanked the contestants and volunteers for community service. The court was recognized for nearly 200 hours of community service during their term.
Nevaeh Reyes, one of the court princesses, said the court was using its platform to promote awareness during April, which she identified as sexual assault awareness month. "This issue is very important to my heart because sexual assault is something that has affected many women in my family for generations," Reyes said. She described weekly "Teal Tuesday" events and asked attendees to wear teal ribbons in solidarity.
Mia Fernandez, who the city identified as Miss Santa Fe Springs 2024–25, thanked the council and said the court had focused its year on community service and mentoring younger women in the city.
Public Information Officer Raylene Barasa presented a proclamation recognizing National Volunteer Week (April 20–26), praising the city——volunteers for supporting programs from youth mentoring to holiday food distribution. Barasa invited long-term volunteers to the dais to accept the proclamation.

The morning egg hunt will include age categories up to 12 and an inclusive category. - Hernandez previewed the annual 5K, themed "Superhero 5K," scheduled for Saturday, May 3, with a kids——quarter-mile run at 7:30 a.m. and discounted registration for Santa Fe Springs residents using the code SFSRESIDENT.
Community Development Director Quan Nguyen accepted a proclamation for National Community Development Week and described the department——reorganization that combined planning, economic development and housing functions into a single Community Development Department.
