Mayville council approves water-loan paperwork, budget cleanup and multiple public-works contracts

The Mayville Common Council on April 22 approved final paperwork for a state Safe Drinking Water loan and several related bond and legal steps, adopted a 2024 budget amendment that reallocated multiple fund balances, and awarded contracts for park shelter repairs and street paving.

Councilors approved motions to complete the Safe Drinking Water Loan finance-assistance documentation for Project 5443-15 (water-treatment upgrades for wells No. 2, 3 and 5) and to move forward with related bond and legal steps. The council also approved Resolution 5974, a 2024 budget amendment that reallocates multiple internal funds, and accepted the low bid for park shelter maintenance and a base-plus-alternates bid for the 2025 asphalt paving and milling project.

The loan paperwork and bond-related motions were described by administrators as final documentation required to proceed with borrowing for the water-treatment upgrades. The council voted to authorize engagement of bond counsel and to approve the loan financing documents; staff noted part of the project funding will come from borrowing and part from grant sources. The council approved motions on each item by voice or roll call; where a roll call was requested, alderpersons recorded “Aye.”
