Resident complains of cut-through pedestrian traffic, vehicle theft risk after nearby overpass closure

At the start of the meeting during citizen comments, resident David Drewicki of 540 Mill Street said foot traffic has increased through what is now a private drive at the end of a cul-de-sac since a pedestrian overpass was closed and relocated. He said people are cutting across his yard and private drive to reach other streets and that the situation is an ongoing nuisance.
Drewicki told trustees his car was stolen from his driveway about a month earlier and recovered; he said the theft raised concerns that the driveway may have been observed by trespassers. He asked whether the village could post signage to make clear the drive is private and asked staff to coordinate with police and public works to address the issue. Village staff responded that ownership in the area is mixed among tollway, village and private property and that staff would work with the resident and with police and public works to follow up.
The matter was recorded as a citizen petition/comment; the board invited the resident to share contact information with staff for follow-up.
