District outlines iLearn/iRead windows and math curriculum pilot

The Warrick County School Corp reported on state assessments and a district math materials pilot at the April 14 meeting.
Mr. Jason Fisher, director of learning, said the district completed the iRead3 window in March and will offer an additional iRead3 opportunity in May for grade‑3 students while school is in session. He said summer iRead programs will be available at Chandler Elementary and Oakdale Elementary for students who need extra support.
Mr. Fisher announced that the statewide iLearn testing window opened the day of the meeting and will close May 9. He described the iLearn administration as applying to grades 3 through 8 for English language arts and math and to grades 4 and 6 for science; he also said the biology iLearn is given to high‑school freshmen. Mr. Fisher noted that the district offers alternate assessment windows ("IM" window) for some students with special needs.
Regarding curriculum, Mr. Fisher said the district will hold math-material presentations for grades 6–12 so teachers can review pilot materials; presentations were scheduled for the next two days with multiple sessions. He said the district is considering three providers for grades 6–12 and two providers at the high‑school level for the 2025–26 adoption cycle.
Mr. Fisher said the presentations will allow teachers to review materials, and the review team will collect feedback for a later selection process.
