Staff said the total original projected cost for the relocations was about $550,000 and that the town budgeted $250,000 from reserves as the town's share. Staff also said the town's obligation for right-of-way acquisition in the original MOU had been capped at $136,000.
The town said it has coordinated with SHA and the county on the project design and has worked to minimize relocations where possible. In discussion, staff said some redesigns had reduced the need to relocate the water line.
