Suspect arrested after breaking into two Mount Vernon businesses, booked in Skagit County Jail

The Mount Vernon Police Department said officers investigated two burglaries in which a suspect forced entry by breaking the front doors of two local businesses.
The department said the suspect stood out because he was wearing a bright reflective jacket when the burglaries occurred. An officer located the man the next day still wearing the same coat and took him into custody.
The spokesperson said the suspect was booked into the Skagit County Jail on two counts each of second-degree burglary and second-degree malicious mischief. The department did not provide the suspect's name in its monthly recap.
