Council unanimously approves committee reports, finance items and agreements
Summary

The Renton City Council on the April agenda concurred with committee reports and approved a series of finance and administrative items by voice vote.
The council approved committee recommendations and acted on Finance Committee reports that included claims and payroll vouchers, personnel actions, lease amendments, grants, human-services agreements and interagency funding. Key items approved by the council that evening included:
- Approval of accounts-payable and payroll vouchers: accounts payable totaling $6,804,125.76, payroll totaling $1,997,459.63, and additional vouchers of $38,707.34.
- Personnel compensation: authorize compensation of a police evidence technician at step E of salary grade PN 58 effective April 16, 2025, with prior longevity credited.
- Lease addendum: approve Addendum No. 02/2025 to lease No. 21001 with Penny Loft extending the lease from Feb. 1, 2025, through Jan. 31, 2027, for 24 parking stalls at the City Center parking garage.
- Grant acceptance: accept a 4Culture Sustained Support Program award of $44,000 and execute the grant agreement.
- Utility account adjustment: approve a water-bill leak adjustment for Heritage Hills Apartments in the amount of $2,609.04 in accordance with Renton Municipal Code 8-5-23.
- Finance reorganization: approve a reorganization adding one new position, regrading two positions and revising reporting structure effective May 5, 2025.
- Human services agreements: authorize joint-funded agreements with Sound Generations (Meals on Wheels) for $167,864 and with the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center for $144,758 for the 2025–26 term, subject to legal form approval.
- Department of Health amendment: approve Amendment No. 7 to accept an additional $25,000 for SNAP incentive funding for Renton farmers market programs for Jan. 1, 2025, through Feb. 28, 2026.
- DOJ equitable sharing: approve use of $50,000 in equitable-sharing funds to purchase 35 law-enforcement rifles to replace models past life expectancy.
- MOU with Seattle Police Department: approve Memorandum of Understanding and authorize up to $10,000 to support the Renton Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for overtime, travel, training, equipment and software.
- U.S. Department of Energy interagency agreement: authorize acceptance of $157,700 of non-matching funds for a 2025 project to transition some parks and public-works off-road equipment from gas to battery-electric power.
The council also concurred with Community Services Committee appointments, including the appointment of William Wells to the Renton Senior Citizens Advisory Board (term expiring Dec. 31, 2027) and multiple appointments to the Equity Commission with staggered terms.
