The Teton School District Board of Trustees approved a calendar option April 22 that adds three instructional Fridays on three-day weeks and shortens the final week of the school year so students would finish earlier in May. Calendar committee member Kristen Weston presented three options and said the compromise option most favored by the committee adds three Fridays during holiday weeks and restores four days in June (net seven days adjustment) while allowing the district to end earlier the following year so students with summer jobs can start sooner.
Board members debated budget neutrality, teacher collaboration days and whether two-year approvals could be changed later if the budget forced adjustments. Trustees moved to approve the option that adds three Fridays on holiday weeks and adopts calendars for two consecutive years (2025–26 and 2026–27) for planning; the motion passed by voice vote with one recorded dissent. The board said final adoption and implementation remain subject to final budget numbers, which the district expects to confirm in May.
