Keller ISD SHAC receives nominations for 2024–25 executive committee; election set for May 12

At its April 14 meeting, the Keller ISD School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) opened nominations for the 2024–25 executive committee and introduced four candidates who will stand for election at the council’s next meeting on May 12.
The nominations included Summer Crowe for chair, Stephanie O’Dell for co-chair, Adeline Casselberry for parliamentarian and William Bubeck for secretary. Summer Crowe, chair of SHAC, described her focus this year: “My main goal for this year has been to lay the foundation,” and said she has worked with district staff to identify the scope of SHAC’s work.
The council reviewed eligibility and timing rules from the SHAC bylaws, which require candidates to have served at least one year on SHAC, to have attended both regular fall semester SHAC meetings (December 16 and February 10 for this year), to meet parent/staff composition rules and to limit service to no more than three consecutive terms. Nominations were taken under the council’s rules of order; no formal vote was held at the April 14 meeting.
Jody (staff member) read candidate information submitted to the committee: Crowe is serving a second year as chair and participated in video reviews and the legislative priorities committee; O’Dell has participated in SHAC for a year and was active in district events; Casselberry has served three years and held the parliamentarian role this year; William Bubeck has served one year and has experience facilitating teams in his workplace. Members who nominated candidates included Nancy Hall and others from the membership present.
Elections for all executive positions are scheduled for SHAC’s final regularly scheduled meeting of the 2024–25 year on May 12. The council did not take a vote at the April 14 meeting; members said the nomination step was required under the bylaws ahead of the May election.
Minutes for the April 14 meeting were noted as posted and a minutes-review committee was assembled to verify the draft minutes before final approval.
The council will return May 12 to conduct the formal elections and other business already on the calendar.
