The item prompted a dispute over whether the county currently has funds available to pay for the assessment. One commissioner said there is no money in the current budget and urged that the IT assessment be tabled until the county’s budget process in July–August. Another commissioner and staff described the item as already approved under ARPA and said the county has previously shifted ARPA allocations between projects to cover costs when estimates change.
