The Ohio County Fiscal Court completed routine business at its March 24 meeting, approving minutes, bills and claims, a treasurer’s financial statement, personnel appointments and a cemetery access easement.
The court approved special-call meeting minutes from March (motion and second recorded) and approved the regular meeting minutes for March 24 by voice vote. Court members then moved and approved the bills, claims, payments and transfers listed on the agenda.
The court accepted the treasurer’s March 25 financial statement after a motion and second.
Personnel: The court approved two part‑time hires. The court accepted Jeffrey Jones as a part‑time litter abatement worker, level 1, at $13.99 per hour, up to 22 hours per week. The court approved Jed Likens as a courthouse custodian, level 1, at $13.99 per hour, up to 22 hours per week. The hires were approved by roll-call voice affirmation; several court members recorded votes in favor during the roll calls recorded in the transcript.
Cemetery easement: The viewing committee reported on taking in a road to reach Beach Valley Church cemetery. The court voted to accept the property access as a low-maintenance county lane to provide public access to the cemetery; the motion carried by voice vote.
Committee reports and other routine items were announced, and the court scheduled a special-call meeting (personnel and advertisement) to meet at 3:00 p.m. on the upcoming Thursday for personnel matters.
